2017 – Periphery as a Hub – The Canaries & Africa

For the first of what became an annual excursion, M.A. Global Business Development students from Hochschule Kempten travelled to Tenerife in November 2017, led by Prof. Dr. Andreas Müller and Prof. Dr. Katrin Stefan. Hosted by Prof. DI Günter Koch of the Humboldt Cosmos Multiversity, the group visited the Teide-HPC supercomputer, the renewable energy centre, the port of Santa Cruz, and met Rodrigo Trujillo of Universidad de La Laguna and the Colegio de Ingenieros. Working in three teams, students proposed business models around electromobility, renewable energy and digitalisation — with an eye toward expansion into West Africa.
